Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens

Somehow, The Husband and I never went to the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, just south of Buffalo. We basically drove past it on our way from Ellicottville to Buffalo so we decided to stop.

The building is so beautiful, even in the snowstorm we were in. The conservatory and gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, of Central Park fame. He also designed multiple other parks in Buffalo, including Delaware Park.

It opened in 1900 and was the third largest greenhouse in the country. It survived Depression-era budget cuts and blizzards, and is so gorgeous and amazing.
