The underground bunkers where Churchill and the British military directed efforts during WWII is now an award-winning museum where you can see the actual bunkers and learn about Winston Churchill’s life.
I’ll be the first to admit that both my knowledge and interest in history is subpar but I really enjoyed this museum. The Churchill Museum is full of interactive displays and important historical artifacts that are well-described and, dare I say, even interesting. It helped that he was an author and there were plenty of books on display. I also learned that I had other things in common with him: he hated noise and had to get a special typewriter and didn’t like to leave the pub until it closed.

As you walk through the War Rooms, they are set up just like they were used during WWII. The mannequins and videos depicting life during the war make it feel like you are watching military strategy sessions, planning on how to stop Nazi Germany.

Even if you aren’t a history buff, the Churchill War Rooms is a must-do in London. At £30 per ticket I thought it was overpriced when I bought the ticket, but after seeing the museum, it’s absolutely worth the cost.
