Airbnb Review: Corning, NY

I’ve been making the rounds with my friends, trying to see them and do something fun before The Husband and I head to Europe for an extended period.

It was easier for me to fly up to Buffalo than all of them to coordinate their schedules to fly down, so I headed up to Buffalo for a short visit with my WNY BFFs.

We decided on a quick little two night trip to Corning, NY, home of the Corning Museum of Glass. I hadn’t been since high school so I was down for giving it a try.

There were four of us, so we decided on an Airbnb instead of a hotel. I found the cutest place, just a few blocks from the museum. It was a beautiful three story house that was updated and fresh, while still maintaining the charm of a house over 120 years old.

Don’s Modern Home with Wellness Studio was all three floors, so plenty of room for all of us. The bottom floor had a kitchen, bathroom, living room, two bedrooms, a front porch, and a large backyard with plenty of seating, if it wasn’t winter.

The second floor also had a kitchen, living room, one bedroom, and two full bathrooms, as well as laundry and a cute little porch.

The third floor was such a wonderful surprise! We obviously knew it was there but didn’t expect it to be as cute as it was. The whole third floor is a wellness area, one room with Turkish furniture for meditation, one room with yoga mats, and a gorgeous writing desk in the middle. It was so cozy and inviting.

I stayed in the downstairs front bedroom with the brick fireplace and it was so comfy and cozy. I slept really well. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking all the stuff we got at Wegmans (GOAT grocery store).

If you have mobility challenges, it may not be the best options. There are just a few stairs into the first floor, but lots of stairs to the second and third. If you have a larger group than our four, it may be challenging to eat together or hang out in one living area together comfortably.

The location was great. It would have been a short walk to the museum but it was cold and I’m a Floridian now, so we drove. It was also close to restaurants and stores, making it super convenient for anything we needed.

If I return to Corning, I will absolutely stay here again.
