I Scream, You Scream, We All SCREAM-A-GEDDON!

As I get older, I find that I’m not as brave as I was in my younger days, so I was a little nervous about going to SCREAM-A-GEDDON. I knew just how great it was, which only made my fear worse.

My fear subsided after speaking with the manager, Adam. Although SCREAM-A-GEDDON is five horror attractions, it’s not meant to shock you with fear as much as it’s meant to exhilarate and startle you.

Plus, you notice right away that they have a sense of humor…

Hilarious!

The first thing you notice when you pull up is that it is in the middle of absolutely nowhere, which was exactly what they were going for. They wanted lot of space to provide the setting for a rural, interactive haunt, unlike most other horror attractions.

The main common area is right when you walk through the gate. There are beautiful string lights in the trees, cozy fires with picnic tables, and monsters and ghouls sneaking up on you from out of nowhere!

But first, we have to talk about the real stars of SCREAM-A-GEDDON; the fried Oreos and the lemonade! There are the best. There are no other words.

Look at those fluffy balls of deliciousness! That’s right, those are Oreos!

They also have other food, similar to carnival food.

Now, on to the attractions. There are five in total; two interactive, one 3D, a walk through the dead woods, and a cursed hayride.

My personal favorite was Bedlam 3D. It’s a 3D house with clowns and I know that may sound extra scary to most people, you can’t help but be impressed by the artistry of the attraction. You don 3D glasses provided when you enter to experience the full effect of Bedlam.

Unfortunately, you can’t take photos inside the attractions, so I have limited images. I did manage to capture this awesome one!

The interactive attractions, Infected and Blackpool Prison, allow you to choose your level of interaction. If you chose to wear a glow necklace (if you’re over 18 years old), the cast can grab you and lock you in rooms, boxes, or hold you down in chairs (those are just a few of the things I experienced!). They take you from your group and really try to spook you. It’s just the right amount of scary, fun, and exhilaration. If it seems too intense, you simply don’t wear the necklace and walk through, watching all the mayhem around you.

Lots of photo ops while in line!

In the Dead Woods, you are given the smallest glow stick and sent into the dark woods. You walk through different scenes, trying to escape from the Tate family. It’s a really great concept; it’s essentially a horror house but outside. You walk through at your own pace (although you’ll probably find yourself running!).

The Cursed Hayride is new and improved this year. They increased the number of scenes along the ride, and they spent months perfecting the lighting and sets. You climb aboard a hay wagon and are taken through different scary scenes with an old-fashioned western-type finale.

If horror attractions aren’t your thing but you still want to go, there are other things for you to do while you wait for your braver friends and family. There are carnival games, paintball, and a caricature artist. But beware, the ghouls can still find you!

Hurry up, because SCREAM-A-GEDDON ends on November 5th! You can find the schedule and hours here.

The ticket prices range from $21-39 depending on the day. For an additional fee you can upgrade your ticket to VIP and skip the line. I highly recommend it! The average wait time per attraction for general admission is around 30 minutes, whereas we didn’t wait longer than five with our VIP passes. You can buy tickets here. You can also buy tickets there, as well as upgrade your tickets to VIP.

SCREAM-A-GEDDON is open rain or shine, and only the Cursed Hayride closes in the event of rain.

Although the tickets were provided to me, my opinions are all my own. And sometimes the Husband’s.
