Parc Omega

Just a few miles from the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is a lovely animal reserve called Parc Omega. It’s a huge park with elk, deer, coyotes, buffalo, bears, and lots more. You drive your car around and feed the animals carrots. The majority of the animals roam free (except for the obvious) and they definitely have learned that cars equal carrots. They all come right up to your car.

You can stop in the store at the park and buy bags of carrots for $2.50 CAD. We bought one bag for the three of us, and it was plenty.

Armed with carrots, we headed out on the wild road. Immediately we saw animals.

We fed our carrots to all the animals (the ones that you are supposed to feed) and then headed on our way. It was the perfect gloomy, raining day activity and I’m so glad we went! It was really neat to be so close to these lovely animals.
