Restaurant Review: Tommy’s Hideaway, Gulfport, FL

There’s a new restaurant in Gulfport so we obviously had to check it out. Tommy’s Hideaway is a new spot just a few blocks from the beach, on Beach Blvd, the main street in Gulfport.

They have a cute bar area, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. There is a gorgeous pizza oven but they are waiting on permits so they weren’t serving pizza when we were there. But with a delicious menu, it didn’t matter.

We ordered a ton of food when we went. It was probably a good thing that we couldn’t order pizza, because it forced us to try everything else.

We started with wings, which were actually pretty good. We went for lunch on a weekday, so they had a salad and half a sub special. I ordered the house salad, which had way more on it than most house salads. The half turkey sub was still huge but had a ton of onions and was kind of hard to close. The Husband had a chicken parm sub with fries and it was good but also kind of sloppy and hard to close. My dad got a burger and loved it and my stepmom had the shrimp salad special and it was also really good.

They opened recently and there are some obvious kinks to work out, mostly the lack of pizza and the sloppy construction of the subs, but it was still delicious. I look forward to returning and seeing how they improve on the subs and, of course, check out the pizza.
