Duomo di Siena, Siena, Italy

The Duomo di Siena, erected in the 1200’s, is one of the most recognizable Italian Gothic churches. Like most duomos in Italy, it is both grand and elaborate.

Tickets are required to visit the duomo, and include multiple areas of the church. You can buy them ahead of time online (although the mobile version of the site is very tedious) or buy them in person at the duomo.

We bought the ticket that includes the church, library, crypt, and museum. You also have the option of including the Porto del Ciel, which takes you up into the ceiling, and I was absolutely not going up there.

The rest of the church is so lovely, even from the ground.

A visit to Siena isn’t complete without a visit to the duomo!
