Ted Lasso’s Richmond, London

If you know me, you know Ted Lasso is my second favorite show of all time (first being Schitt’s Creek). Obviously, we had to go to Richmond while we were in London.

We took the train from Waterloo in central London, near our hotel, to Richmond. At £11 round trip for the 30 minute ride, it was much cheaper than a taxi but we were glad we didn’t book our longer stay out there.

The area where most of Ted Lasso is filmed is a short walk from the train station. The Husband’s cousin, who lives in London, went with us and was a great tour guide, but it would have been easy to find on our own.

In Richmond, you can see the park where he watches the kids play soccer/football, the bench were he’s called a wanker, the pub, and of course, the street he lives on.

It was interesting to see how the pub looked inside compared to the show. There wasn’t a dart board or pinball machines. The TV that the fans watch the game on in the pub was covered by a chalkboard with the specials. But you could still picture Ted and Beard having a beer, Rebecca and her mom eating a salad. You could imagine Ted sitting on the bench, talking to Beard, contemplating life, being called a wanker.

I don’t watch a lot of TV, and I’m not usually impressed by famous people or movie/TV sets. But my love for Ted Lasso is deep, and it was really awesome to see where parts of it was filmed. If you’re a Ted Lasso fan and visiting London, you have to make a stop in Richmond.

Have you always wondered what Ted Lasso’s Richmond looks like? Thank me by buying me a glass of wine!
