NaNoWriMo and NoMoBlog

November is what many writers refer to as torture month. Or a month of new beginnings. Or a month of hard work.

It’s National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short. Writers all over the world, newbies and pros, pledge to write a certain word count in the month of November, usually 50,000 words. That’s 1667 words per day, every day in November. Sound like a lot? That’s because it is.

If your only job was to write, it could be achieved pretty quickly. Unless the dreaded writer’s block hits. Or life happens. Add a full-time job, families, other commitments, and suddenly 1,667 words sounds impossible!

I’m lucky, as my job is a 9-5 kind of job and my husband is very supportive. In fact, my family are my biggest cheerleaders. Check out this gorgeous mechanical keyboard my father sent me.

My stunning new Azio Retro Classic Posh mechanical keyboard. Yes, it really sounds like a typewriter and it’s one of the most beautiful sounds!

My blog takes the biggest hit during my month of writing. Occasionally I need to write about something else to keep the story in my novel from coming to a screeching halt. So I may pop up with something randomly during the next month. Or I might completely ghost you all.

But don’t despair! You don’t have to miss me. Follow my progress and other things writing on my author Twitter and Instagram. Or better yet, read my novel The End of Sam, so you’re prepared for the sequel I’m writing this month! I also have a gorgeous new website, check it out!
