Hotel Review: Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront

I used to meticulously plan travel. I would book everything in advance, create calendars with itineraries, and share them with everyone traveling with me. But the one thing that my sales job changed was my need to plan ahead. I had to get used to jumping in my car or a plane and head to wherever I was going without a real plan, reservations, etc.

Instead of planning our entire New England trip, we played most of it by ear. When we arrived in Portland, ME, I opened my Hilton app, found a nearby hotel, and booked it. We ended up at the Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront and it was wonderful! It’s relatively new, aesthetically pleasing (the bartender called it an Instagramable hotel), the staff was super friendly, and the location was great.

The room we booked was large with lots of area to relax. The bed and couch were super comfy and the soaking tub was delightful. We had a great view of the water and even the open-concept closet/coffee/fridge area was adorable. The room had large glass jars and a water station by the elevators. I love when hotels provide alternative options for drinking water besides plastic bottles or bathroom sink water.

We actually liked the hotel so much that we booked it on our way back from Bar Harbor to Boston and ended up in the same room.

We would absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Portland.

I am not sponsored by Hilton, nor is this post. These opinions are all my own. But I do have diamond status and I prefer Hilton over the other major hotel chains.
